Birth and Family
Sant Garibdas Ji Maharaj was born in the year 1717 (Vikram Samvat 1774) in Chhudani village, Jhajjar district, Haryana, India. He belonged to the Dhanak Jat clan. His father was Balram Ji, and his mother was Rani Devi Ji. His grandfather Shri Shivalal Sihag had no sons, so his father settled in Chhudani village.
During his childhood, Garibdas Ji used to take cattle for grazing along with other boys. It was during this period that Supreme God Kabir Saheb appeared before him and granted him divine knowledge.

When Garibdas Ji was 10 years old, he was sitting with his friends and eating food. At that moment, Supreme God Kabir Saheb appeared in front of him in the form of a living saint (Jinda Baba) and revealed the eternal truth. During this divine encounter, several miracles took place:
- Milk from an Unmarried Cow – Supreme God Kabir Saheb blessed a young cow, and she started giving milk immediately.
- Journey to Satlok (Eternal Abode) – Kabir Saheb took Garibdas Ji’s soul out of his body and showed him the realms of Satlok, Kaal Brahm’s Lok, Vishnu Lok, Brahma Lok, and Shiv Lok.
