Who was Mahatma Gautam Buddha

Mahatma Gautam Buddha, the founder of Buddhism and known as the Jyotipunj of Asia, was born on the full moon of Vaishakh month at Lumbini in Kapilvastu, Nepal on this day in 563 BC in the Kshatriya clan (hence this day is also called Buddha Purnima 2022). is ) . His childhood name was Siddhartha. His father’s name was Shuddhodhana and mother’s name was Maya Devi. His mother died on the seventh day of his birth, after which he was brought up by his step mother Prajapati Gautami. His father was the head of the Shakyagan and being a prince, Buddha was brought up with full royal opulence. At the age of 16, Buddha was married to Yashodhara. After a few years, they had a son, who was named Rahul.

What is Buddha Purnima ( Gautam Buddha )

Mahatma Gautam Buddha’s mind was not fixed in the palace since childhood and he was always seen sitting in solitude.
Actually Gautam Buddha was a soul who came from Vishnu Lok. (Some people consider Gautam Buddha to be the ninth incarnation of Vishnu) This was the reason that even after all the royal opulences were available, all the pleasures here seemed to him faintly.

Gautama Buddha’s abandonment of the house

One day Mahatma Buddha had a desire to visit Kapilvastu and he took his charioteer along for a walk. Seeing four scenes (old man, a sick person, dead body, a sannyasi) on the way, he took a vow to leave home and take sannyas.

Gautam Siddhartha (Gautam Buddha) was disturbed after seeing the four scenes, then his charioteer told him that this is the harsh truth of life. Everyone has to grow old one day and old age brings with it disease. The coming of death after this is also an absolute truth. After seeing these scenes the Buddha became anxious to find the cause and solution of this cycle of birth and death and the sufferings of human beings. Buddha came to his palace. Relinquishing all pleasures, he made up his mind to become a sannyasi. He left his wife Yashodhara and son Rahul and went to the forest at the age of 29. In Buddhism, his renunciation was called Mahabhinishkraman. Buddha did rigorous penance, hatha yoga practice for many years. At the age of 35, Gautam Buddha attained some knowledge under the Bodhi tree in Bodh Gaya on the full moon of Vaishakh month, therefore Buddhist followers consider Vaisakh Purnima every year as Buddha Purnima (Buddha Purnima 2022).

Hatha Yoga practice right or wrong

In Gita Adhyay 3 Shlok 8, it is forbidden to leave home and practice hatha yoga and it is better to do devotional deeds while doing work than not to do karma.

Kabir saheb ji also tells that:

Until the guru is found, till then do the guru do ten five.

जब तक गुरु मिले न साचा, तब तक गुरू करो दस पांचा।।

Guru is very important in human life. There is only one Guru who makes human life precious and can get rid of the disease of birth and death. But alas, Buddha did not find any true Guru who imparted spiritual knowledge during his lifetime. Supreme God Kabir Saheb ji tells in his satsang that a soul with past virtuous deeds cannot live without finding God. Then even Maya cannot put a fetter on his feet.
